Thanksgiving Dinner - Nov. 23rd |

 After worship on Nov. 23, we will be having a Thanksgiving dinner. High View Church wants to extend an invitation to some area college students who aren't able to make it home for Thanksgiving and allow them to share in this time with our church family. All are invited to participate. Those wanting to contribute to this dinner can bring a side dish or desert of their liking. The turkey and drinks will be provided by the church. Come join us for our 1st annual Thanksgiving meal.

 A few months ago, Haley gave birth to our second child. We named our cute little baby girl Molly. Unfortunately, she was born with a severe problem with her digestive system. The only hope for survival, was for Molly to receive a transplant of major organs in her digestive system. A few days ago we got put on a transplant list, and yesterday we got the call that a donor was available. They flew us up to Omaha where the transplant was to be done. However, there was a complication during the surgery and Molly did not make it. Haley has made a blog of her life, the address is www.littlemissmollyann.blogspot.com if you are interested.
We are so incredibly blessed to have had almost 3 months with our little girl. God’s grace has been clear to us and we are joyful for all His work in her life.
Haley and I are back in Denver now, and have made arrangements for her funeral. A memorial service will be held on Friday (11/7) at 4pm at the Tivoli Student Union on Auraria Campus in the Turnhalle room. The address is 900 Auraria Pkwy, Denver, CO 80204.
People have asked what they can do for us. Meals would be good and flowers for the funeral are definitely appropriate. The contact person is Cynthia Mulliniks and her phone number is (720) 217-3183. Also, the Colorado Baptist General Convention has set up a fund for Molly to help with funeral and medical costs. Please make checks payable to the Colorado Baptist General Convention and note that it is for the Molly Hovis Fund. The address you can send that to is 7393 South Alton Way Centennial, CO 80112-2302. Also, they have made giving available online. Just go to www.saturatecolorado.com and click on the e-giving button on the bottom right of the page.
If you can attend the memorial, that would be great, but please pray for Haley and I as we mourn the loss of our daughter.

High View Church and Community Groups - As part of our overall strategy to plant many churches in and around Denver, we have installed our community small groups to serve as a means for bible study, encouragement, and a place to hang out with other people. Whether you are a Christian or not, you are completely welcome attend one of these small groups and ask as many questions as you want about Jesus, the Bible, problems, life, and whatever else you can think of. High View Church has moved....don't worry...we're still meeting in the Tivoli. We have moved from Turnhalle to Zenith. Zenith is on the 6th floor and is in room 640. In order to get there you have to take the tower elevator...it's pretty easy to get to. We moved to this room so we could have storage for our equipment. For church plants, this is a very important aspect of church. The burden of tranporting our equipment from Arvada became tiresome. Zenith is a room that we as a church can really grow in and build great community. We will be in our new room this Sunday (10/12). |
